This is my best attempt at keeping tabs on where I’ve had the good fortune of writing (or recording!) over the years.
I’m grateful to have written for some really amazing sites and appeared on some phenomenal shows. I’m not actively searching for more guest opportunities, but if you’re interested in hearing from me, drop me a line and we’ll chat.
WooCommerce — between April 2015 and June 2017 I served as the content editor/manager for the WooCommerce division of Automattic, so I made a lot of posts on the WooBlog (around 170 in all).
Jetpack — from June 2017 on out I’ve been leading the charge on content for the Jetpack division of Automattic. I’m not writing as much as I did for Woo, but I am editing every post, managing freelancers, and juggling lots of moving pieces on our calendar.
WebpageFX — before moving to Automattic I was writing here about marketing strategy, business, and SEO. My favorite posts are about Girl Scout Cookies and free guacamole at Chipotle.
PayPal posts 1, 2, and 3 — I was fortunate enough to write three guest pieces for PayPal after the launch of our Business in a Box program with Xero. This was pretty fun despite the limited word count!
HeroPress — probably one of my favorite pieces. This is a personal essay on not letting fear control your life and how the WordPress community helped me grow beyond my anxiety, past abuse, and health problems. It was also the inspiration for my WordCamp US talk in 2016.
Content Marketing Institute — why you should be using Pinterest for content curation, and how to start doing it like a boss.
Moz — why nofollow links aren’t terrible and how they can actually be good for you. (Sidenote: this was promoted from YouMoz to the main blog and netted me nonstop Twitter mentions for a couple days, plus shoutouts from some of the Moz crew. One of the coolest moments of my short-lived SEO career and — more importantly — what led me to start taking myself seriously as a marketer and writer.)
Buffer — I wrote about some data-backed strategies you can use to grow your Twitter following. They’re data-backed because I actually used them when I worked at WebpageFX! 🙂
Entrepreneur — The Buffer piece above was republished here. Another seriously cool moment, and it caused yet another “my Twitter is on fire” experience!
Duct Tape Marketing — how gratitude can earn you Twitter followers and more.
Shareaholic — how to manage your social strategy without wasting a bunch of time.
CoSchedule AMP – How to Become the Leading Authority in Your Niche — I freaking love CoSchedule, so being on this podcast was a dream come true. I also got to ramble about how we handled content production at WooCommerce!
WP eCommerce Show – Insights on Blogging for eCommerce — Bob is a great host. I won’t embarrass him by talking about the mistake that was made the first time we tried to record this podcast 😉 but rather say this was so fun and probably my favorite recording to date.
Do the Woo – Using Jetpack with Your WooCommerce Store — Bob had me back for another appearance, this time after I moved to the Jetpack Growth team. We talked about using Jetpack and WooCommerce together, the benefits of doing so, and what happens if you outgrow one of our features.
DradCast – Tin Foil Hats — This was a bunch of laughs. I can’t even describe everything that was covered here, just listen.
